This is micro1's public listing for the role, read October 29, 2026, with dashes and placeholder links cleaned up. The listing is micro1's text; the summary above and everything below it is ours.
Role Title: Simulation Expert - Real-to-Sim 3D Environments & Assets
Role Type: Contractor
Location: Remote
micro1 is engaging Simulation Experts - Real-to-Sim 3D Environments & Assets to contribute to a customer’s project focused on advanced simulation and artificial intelligence training. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required - your domain knowledge is what matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and configure 3D assets and environments in simulation platforms (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo, or similar)
- Translate real-world objects and instruments into simulation, matching geometry, scale, material, and physical behavior
- Collaborate with scientists and subject-matter experts to validate accuracy of simulated environments
- Tune physical parameters (mass, friction, collision properties, joint dynamics) so simulated objects behave like their real counterparts
- Troubleshoot discrepancies between simulated and real-world behavior
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with at least one robotics/physics simulation platform (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo, Unity, Unreal, PyBullet, etc.)
- Background in 3D modeling, CAD, or environment design
- Understanding of physics simulation (rigid body dynamics, materials, sensors)
- Strong collaboration skills working with scientific/technical stakeholders
- Attention to detail in matching real-world fidelity
- Windows or Linux workstation with an NVIDIA RTX GPU

Pay and terms
The listing does not state a rate for this role. micro1's expert guide describes pay in bands by type of work rather than per role, so treat any figure you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until it appears in your contract.
micro1 engages experts as contractors. Its help library says payments are made in USD twice a month and that contracts and payroll run through Deel. Payments cannot be processed until identity verification there is complete. Read our micro1 review for what workers say about project availability and support.
Before you apply
Engineering and trades listings ask for hands-on experience with specific tools, standards or certifications. Have the names and levels ready.
Applying starts with an AI interview, then certification, then matching to projects by recruiters. micro1 says certification does not guarantee a project, so treat this as flexible work and not as a job offer. The how to become an AI trainer guide walks through each step.

What is a 3D simulation?
In this micro1 role, it means building a virtual copy of a real object or instrument inside a simulation platform such as Isaac Sim, Gazebo or MuJoCo, matching its geometry, scale, material and physical behavior. The goal is for the simulated item to act like the real one. The work supports a customer project on simulation and AI training.
What is a 3D simulator?
The micro1 listing treats a 3D simulator as a robotics or physics platform where assets and environments are built and configured. It names Isaac Sim, Gazebo and MuJoCo, and also accepts hands-on experience with Unity, Unreal or PyBullet. Applicants also need a background in 3D modeling, CAD or environment design and an understanding of rigid body dynamics, materials and sensors.
How to create 3D simulations?
This micro1 listing describes the steps it expects: build assets and environments in a simulation platform, translate real objects into the simulation, and tune mass, friction, collision properties and joint dynamics until they behave like their real counterparts. You also troubleshoot gaps between simulated and real behavior and work with scientists to validate accuracy. It is remote contract work.
How much does the Simulation Expert - Real-to-Sim 3D Environments & Assets role at micro1 pay?
The listing does not state a rate for this role, so we cannot give a figure. micro1's expert guide describes pay in bands by type of work rather than per role. Ask during onboarding, and read the contract before you accept work.
Is the Simulation Expert - Real-to-Sim 3D Environments & Assets role remote?
The listing calls it remote work and does not name a country limit. micro1 says it hires globally but cannot hire in a list of excluded countries, so read the eligibility line on the listing and in your application before you start.
How do I apply for the Simulation Expert - Real-to-Sim 3D Environments & Assets role?
Open the listing on micro1's site and apply there. Applying starts with an AI interview, followed by certification and matching to projects by recruiters. micro1 says certification does not guarantee a project. Our how to become an AI trainer guide covers each step.
